A webinar hosted with the Global Women’s Institute, recorded live on 5 June 2024

This webinar explores a real-life case study of understanding and tracking the impact of a large, long-term participatory action research project.

The Global Women’s Institute has been using our approach and OutNav to track the impact of their multi-year and multi-country research project, Empowered Aid.

Empowered Aid is a participatory action research project that aims to empower women and girls by examining ways in which the distribution of humanitarian aid may increase the risk of sexual exploitation and abuse.

What to expect from the webinar

Dr Sarah Morton, impact expert and Co-Director at Matter of Focus, joins research partners Alina Potts and Andrea Koris from the Global Women’s Institute. Together they reflect on the work and the process of understanding and evidencing impact.

This case study shows how contribution analysis – the theoretical foundation of the Matter of Focus approach to understanding and tracking contribution to outcomes and impact – is applied to track the impact of research on policy, practice, and wider conversations.
